Andrew Grossmann has come to us from the northern state of Michigan. Surrounded by the great lakes Andrew spent much of his time growing up boating, hiking, fishing, and falling in love with the natural world. Desiring to preserve the land and teach others about its amazing qualities, he attended Lake Superior State University earning a degree in conservation biology and studying marine science in Belize. Before and during Andrew’s college summers he staffed a leadership youth camp as a counselor, nature instructor, and waterfront director. Loving every moment of working with children and seeing the excitement on their faces about the wonders in our backyards, he worked at the camp for 8 years. After graduation Andrew moved on to serve in AmeriCorps at a Grand Traverse Regional Land conservancy. Caretaking over 40,000 acres of preserve land with a stewardship team he removed invasive species and worked with the public to increase use, health, and awareness of public lands. Knowing that the outdoors and education were paramount in his career choice, Andrew followed his love of working with children, the ocean, and biology to the Florida Fishing Academy.
