Zack was born and raised in Largo, Florida located only five minutes from the beautiful Gulf beaches. Growing up on the beach spending endless hours fishing, boating, and sailing instilled a love for marine science in him very early in life. Later he spent four years at Florida State University studying Biological Sciences pursuing an honors degree in Marine Biology. His honors degree required him to perform research, working closely with marine invertebrates such as bryozoans and ascidians. During his off-time summer months he fell in love with working with children at The Center for Courageous Kids, a medical camp for kids with life threatening illnesses. Zack decided that combining his love for marine science and childhood education would bring him the most joy in life. So, he joined the staff at Camp Sewee, a marine science summer camp located in South Carolina. At these camps he worked as both a camp counselor and a camp coordinator, learning valuable lessons about how to care for children. He joins us at the Florida Fishing Academy hoping to bring new energy, ideas, and much more to the amazing FFA afterschool programs.
